We got our first desktops at work in 1986. In 1987 shooter got a promotion and was responsible for all of the IT in the company.

We were first in the industry to network and put workstations on every desk.

We used windows rather than apple because microsoft was years ahead of apple for business applications, and cheaper.

That was when shooter got an education about the real cost(s) of computers and software. Simply, when buying software for business it is best to just expect to get screwed.

No matter. Both the hardware and software companies were clients and shooter took into account their markups when computing our markups, so it all worked out.

i personally think that everyone who pays taxes should get to decide exactly where their own taxes should go to be spent on. Like health care, or the program they choose instead of just where the government decides it wants it to go. I'd feel better about paying taxes anyway by having a choice at least.

Not a practical solution. The amount of paperwork alone work be prohibitive and extremely costly. Then there would be the whole accountability issue. How to prove that your money only went to your desired projects would be monumental.

Well, then maybe you should elucidate on your planfor making this happen. How do you collect the data for how a person indicates how they want their money used? How do you plan to ensure that that info is followed as the person intends? And how does Congress handle the situation where something does met the budget, such as military spending? I can only imagine there will be enough people opting out of putting their money towards defense.
